Not really! Both the languages are fundamentally strong in OOPs concepts. It would be good to know what OOPs is all about before learning either of the languages. All the best :)
Is it mandatory to learn c++ before learning JAVA ?
No, jags has a good point. If I may so humbly add... Learning C is a great way to learn pointers. Somthing that java hides. So knowing C will aid you on your java voyage. Not knowing the basis of pointers within arrays and parameters won't kill you in java, but knowing it will make your programming more efficient.
Reply:No it is not necessary, the maoin reason is that if you know about the C++ then it is good for you for learning the Java. Otherwise you can start Java First.
Reply:NO. BUT A LITTLE UNDERSTANDING OF C IS HELPFUL.
Reply:No it's not. It just helps. They're both object-oriented languages.
Reply:not actually! but it will be better if you study c++ first because they are almost the same. that means that it will be easier to study java if you have c++ background. im currently studying java but im finished with c++, so it's tested! believe me, java will be more interesting to study if you do so! but of course, it's still up to you for some reasons. good luck! i hope i've helped.
Reply:well, my first, and only, class in college was learning JAVA and we did not discuss c++
