I want to learn C language but find it boring. Can somebody suggest how to make it interesting to learn?

I could come by with a cattle prod and zap you every time you start bitching about how boring it is.

It can never be interesting till u r not interested in it.
Reply:If you don't find it interesting, you have two choices:





1) Make it interesting for yourself,


2) learn something else.





If you find learning C boring, you will find programming in C boring. It is as simple as that.
Reply:Don't do only reading some material for it. First find a good book or tutorial. Then follow it from chapter to chapter. Don't try to make a full software just at start. U will be bored then. Use any good compilers (classic ones are best (Turbo C or Borland C will do)). Do some practical on the go

If u r going for pure C then





The C Programming Language by Kerninghan %26amp; Richie (Prentice HAll)





The C Answer book by Tondo %26amp; Gimpel (Prentice Hall) -%26gt; this is an anwer book for excersices in the former book.





While using this book do th following. From ur statement I hope u r a newbie. Don't try to complete all excersices at end of eachh chapter. Some are tricky,. Thuis is because the book is best for C and is written in such a standard. Don't worry lessons are simple. If u r good in thinking u can do all excersices. They are not straight forward questions. U Have to think a lot. If u can take pain to solve it Its good.





I personnaly studied C++ first then C. U have to study C++ to get to OOPS concept (Object Oriented Programming Design).


U can choose any way. After u study C study C++ also. Only some contructs are extra. else same. If u become good at developing C apps then u can learn any complexx programming languages easily.

C , like the pun iteself is interesting and fun. It's not only a good tool for making people happy it also makes some really SAD! (if you know what I mean!!)





With C, the fastest language in terms of execution of applications, you are on the verge of acheiving the SEA of knowledge of Computers. Remember, C is the only language that can generate itself, I mean it's compiler can be generated just by the knowledge of C.





Well, aparts for all it's merits, it does have de-merits, i.e., it can be used for making TSR viruses and TROJAN HORSES.(!!) A real problem for Cyber-Men.





With the knowledge of C you are bound to become either a professional application designer or a internet doom-ain, a shameless hacker.





I never suggest books for your quest, I never had one myself, it's just practical experience with the C compiler. The Turbo C/C++ or Borland C/C++ has an interesting feature that allows you to learn from scratch!! Basically they have in-bulit programs (also some that may build TSRs) and tutorials that WILL buy all means make the topic seem as interesting as the naked-girl-in-the-shower-next-door!
