Good introductory material and also works in good programming practices and good examples.
Reply:"C++ From The Ground Up"

"C++ For Dummies"

Example tutorials on the web - loads of wonderful examples of programming - just remember "Don't reinvent the wheel" when you can look at programming examples and learn from them!

Good Luck
