What is the best way to learn C++ and also where to obtain it can it be downloaded or do i have to purchase it

C++ isn't an easy programming language to learn. I took a year and a half of it in College, and have to admit that if you don't use it every day, you lose it. It's not at all intuitive like VisualBasic, COBOL, etc.

But if you want to learn it, there are a number of good free resources available, in addition to all of the books available for purchase.

You can get Microsoft Visual C++ Express for free and there are others (I learned on Borland's Turbo C++):

Here's are good tutorial:

If you don't already have some experience in programming, you might want to consider a programming logic class/tutorial first, though.

Good luck!

I took a C++ class in college--hardest class I ever took! All of the computer geeks thought it was a breeze and got annoyed when I asked questions. :(

I went to tutoring and bought a book called "Programming in C++ for Dummies." It was really helpful! The book helped me understand writing code well enough to pass the class.
