What is better to learn vb or c++?

i am onfused whether to learn vb or c++. advice neded

What is better to learn vb or c++?
Depends on your intentions. VB is probably easier if you are not expecting employment. If you are looking for a career, few employers want VB so C++ would be better.

Or look at Java. That's the most common requirement for Software engineers lately (Visit some employment website to see) And it can be downloaded free from the java.sun.com website (start with JAVASE and NetBeans)
Reply:what's your preference first?

for being tough professional, c++ obviously,

just for time pass? then vb
Reply:VB is widely used in industry but the market rates for C++ is better. You will normally see C++ development on Unix\Linux platforms. Microsoft is moving away from C++ on to C#. If you want to write for the Windows platform go with C#. If you want to do C++ expect to work on non-Windows platforms and expect to put your dues in.
Reply:start with c for programming basics

move to c++ for some advance concepts in programming

then move to vb for GUI applications

then JAVA for real world requirements

be sure to learn a database also
Reply:Both are essential so it depends on you and i prefer C++ because this is Advance one.
