How long does it take an absolute beginner to learn C++?
I took C++ before and it took me a couple of months before I understood C++, but as the previous person said, although it may take a short amount of time to learn it, it takes a lifetime to master it!
Reply:For every person is totally different, I would say you tend to pick up better if you think logically and/or understand math concepts. I can think logically, but my math skills I left somewhere back in high school. For me, it took me about a month to begin to be able to produce a program with no syntax or run time errors, but I still have trouble sometimes. You cant expect someone to give you an answer on mastering it, just because its all relevant. Think of the way you learned to speak (your native language here), programming is much like learning to speak (your native language here) which is a good thing to know before you start. Regardless good luck, and may your journey into the world of computer logic...be a pleasant one.
Reply:Learning: 1 day.

Mastering: Lifetime
Reply:I took C++ for a semester in high school and I still don't get it!! I actually tried really hard too and I just couldn't understand it. (I'm pretty smart too- 3.86 GPA in college)
Reply:Depends on how smart you are... But I would definately say a year... You should get the C++ for Dummies... I got my friend got his at Hastings....
