as title says, but my main concern is I was wondering what kinda math should I learn. I've seen lots of code and there are confusing. I figured I need to learn some math, but I dont know which one, thx
Trying to learn c++?
concrete mathematics, but even with a basic knowledge of math you are good to go.
Reply:As a first thought, you dont really need much math to learn C++. However, if you are persuing a major in computer science you are going to find alot of math as requirements in your major. This is because to learn a language at its deepest levels involves knowing a lot of math that is used in building its circuits. Also, all these math (specially discrete math or calculus )will be useful when you are faced with the many different algorithmical problems, dealing with performance of your design language or just to look at behaviors of many Artificial Intelligence Algorithm that you would use when you write complex programs.
Thus, if you are just barely skinning c++ i would just recommend you to take a logical class or intro to discrete math. But, if you are going to get serious I would recommend having math specially the ones you are going to encounter at an University level.
Reply:im a computer science major. high level math really isn't needed unless your programming mathematics. I'd say if you have one course of Calculus your just right.
Reply:C++ is not need that much math if you take the basic math or even the calculus #1 it is enough for you
Reply:i dnt even know wat c++ is lol
Reply:I've been programming C++ for years. The minimum math you would need is a good grasp of algebra. Some linear algebra would be good, too. I use calculus and trig quite a bit as well since I do machine control and graphics. You also need to learn some boolean logic. That is: how the logical operators for AND, OR, XOR and NOT work.
Reply:for c++ you don't need that much math except maybe basic algebra for formula's you have to code. I would take a computer math class like logic it helps.
